Shaheen Khan is an MPhil Scholar at Tata Institute of Social Sciences studying applied psychology specializing in clinical and counseling practice. She is currently exploring how the narrative of "personal is political" shapes up in therapeutic spaces through her research. She actively seeks to acknowledge her privilege and uncover the layers of oppression she has been subjected to owing to her identity. After completing an undergraduate degree in psychology, she furthered her interest in the field through a master's degree in Clinical psychology from TISS, Mumbai. She believes in practicing psychotherapy to empower identities and bestow them with a new lease of life. Having her roots in a Muslim community, she has been conscious of people's voices and hardships since time immemorial. She aspires to use her experiences to serve the community’s needs from a community mental health perspective. She believes moral leadership and quality education can help a community thrive. Besides her professional and academic pursuits, you can catch her relishing Urdu poetry along with a hot cup of cappuccino.
