Shireen Masood

Shireen Masood is a CSIR–Senior Research Fellow and Ph.D. scholar at the Molecular & Human Genetics Laboratory, University of Lucknow. Her doctoral research investigates genetic and epigenetic mechanisms in cervical cancer, with a focus on pharmaco-genetics and translating phyto-molecules into therapeutic drugs. Shireen holds an M.Sc. in Zoology with distinction and has qualified competitive exams such as CSIR-JRF and GATE. She has published four research papers related to genetics and epigenetics in international journals and co-authored multiple book chapters on nanogels, lipid metabolism, and cancer care during COVID-19. In addition to her research, she has served as a resource person for national and international workshops on molecular genetics and disease diagnostics, reflecting her commitment to knowledge sharing and mentorship. Proficient in advanced molecular and cell biology techniques, Shireen is passionate about improving cancer diagnostics and outcomes while inspiring young women in science.
