Dr Khairunnisa Aga

Dr Khairunnisa Aga is a dedicated academic and Senior Lecturer of Political Science at the Government Department of Education, Jammu and Kashmir. She holds a PhD in West Asian Studies from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her thesis ‘Usuli Ijtihad and Shi’i Revival in Modern Iran’ involved extensive ethnographic research and examined the relationship between the Shi'i revival and human agency and rationality through the concept of Ijtihad. With a profound interest in the complexities of West Asia, Aga continues to explore the intersections of politics, social structures like religious institutions and regional conflicts driven by geopolitics in her academic work. In addition to her academic pursuits, Aga has significant teaching experience and is deeply invested in fostering critical thinking and intellectual curiosity among her students, inspiring the next generation of Political Scientists. Dr. Aga is trained in Political Theories (IRT) and Peace and Conflict Resolution, she has been actively curating courses and facilitating classes and workshops related to Islamic Political Thought, Gender Issues, Peace pedagogy, Research Methodology and Inclusive Leadership.
