Areeba Ahad is a dedicated advocate for human rights and social justice with a focus on empowering marginalized communities, particularly women and the LGBTQ+ population. A law graduate from the University of Kashmir, Areeba has actively worked on critical issues such as menstrual hygiene, female genital mutilation (FGM), and marital rape through workshops, advocacy, and published writings. Her leadership journey began early, organizing initiatives that dispelled myths around menstruation in Kashmir, improving school attendance for girls. She has also contributed to legal discussions on human rights and the intersection of international law. Areeba is passionate about addressing systemic inequalities and aims to establish a social organization that provides legal aid and support to underserved communities. Through the LedBy Fellowship, she seeks to deepen her leadership skills and expand her impact in advocating for equitable access to justice.
