A look at the 2020 Virtual Fellowship Workshops

Why Not Loiter? Widening Women’s Access to Public Space | Sameera Khan

To encourage the students to look at the issue of women and public space with a new lens. Starting with an interactive exercise, the workshop will lay out a few key ideas of how women and men access and use public space and explain why merely pushing for women’s safety in public space is in itself a limited goal. Taking up ideas that have been popularised by the book ‘Why Loiter? Women & Risk on Mumbai Streets’, the workshop will engage with strategies such as ‘risk’ and ‘loitering’ and why these may be useful in opening up ways of providing women more real access to public space and also opportunities to reclaim the public as a place for pleasure.

Career Negotiation Coaching Program | Joan Moon

The Career Negotiation Coaching Program (CNCP) is an individualized negotiation coaching program from the Kennedy School Negotiation Project created with the goal of assisting individuals in the negotiation process. This program is a result of multiple iterations of negotiation coaching pilots and feedback. It is based on decades of research including studies of professionals in the public, non-profit, and private sectors, in seven global regions, and of how factors, such as race, gender, and culture, influence negotiation.

Whether it’s stories of triumph, failure, reinvention, entrepreneurship, adversity and beyond. Hub Dot nurtures the human desire to share stories and helps people to free themselves of the labels, the barriers and the fear of judgement that can prevent so many from expressing their true, multi-faceted, human selves.

Storytelling and Personal Empowerment | Sharon D'Agostino

In this one-hour Storytelling and Personal Empowerment workshop, the Led By Foundation Fellows will explore the importance of their personal narratives - their stories - in creating their sense of personal empowerment. The workshop will include an exploration of default storylines; the frequency with which disempowering themes are voiced in their personal and professional conversations; the role of other people’s stories; and time for the Fellows to begin developing more empowering storylines for an updated version of their personal narrative.
